My Shelter Dogs

I have adopted several shelter dogs in addition to some that I have just found and some that have been given to me. The first shelter dog I adopted was Christian, a Brittany Spaniel, back in 1969. My hunter friends told me he was the best retriever/pointer they had ever worked with. He was a busy boy during hunting season in spite of the fact that I don't hunt. In 1973 I added Pearl, a pittie / border collie cross. She was a talented herder. I wasn't into herding competition, but I managed to find enough cattle and goat work for her. Then in 1981 I added Pat. I'm not sure what Pat was, but he looked like a really large dalmation and was hands down the easiest dog I have ever trained, and I thought they were all pretty easy. In 1996 my husband and I adopted Sarai (pronounced Sar-I), a pound Malamute / Siberian cross. Sarai was nuts about agility and had a passion for finding things and dragging large objects around - like 10 foot 2" X 8" boards that she helped me unearth from where they had been left and then grown over. Amazing!

I currently have two adopted shelter dogs, Raymond, a 5 year old 55 pound husky / hound cross who is actually owned by my son Garrett, but who lives with me. and Jamie, a 35 pound terrier / whippit cross. Raymond's picture is featured in the heade3r of this site.
