Dealing with housebreaking in the rain. I realized that Jamie thinks the rule is “potty only inside” so I devised a way to show him he can indeed potty outside. It worked and Jamie potty’d outside for the first time! First trip to the vet.

Getting up very early to take Jamie out is working. His crate was dry this morning. He is identifying a particular area as the potty area. The first time he has shown interest in chewing on a toy–a cow hoof is his favorite. He is still very skittish in the kitchen when he hears any squeek like a door opening. Left him in his crate during the day while I went out for a short while – successful: crate was dry when I came back, and Jamie was sacked out.

Housebreaking going well, but Jamie still requires constant supervision. He is taking possession of my office, where he spends his days. He growls when he hears Les come into my office.
